Career

After good performances in the ACT team at the 2004 Under 16 Girls and the 2005 Under 19 Women's National Championships, Clare was selected in the Australian Youth Development Squad that participated in the 2004 and 2005 International Friendship Challenge Series. She was also selected as a member of the Australian Under 19 Women's Squad that participated in the Open Women's National League and played in the Australian Pride team in a test series against Japan (2006) and New Zealand (2007). Her performances with the ACT Open Women's and Under 19 Women's teams at the National Championships in 2007 led to Clare's official selection in the Aussie Pride Under 19 Women's World Championship team. At the 2007 Under 19 World Championships, she had great success with the bat which assisted the Aussie Pride winning the Bronze medal at the championships. Since 2007, Clare has played with the ACT Open Women's and Under 23 teams at the National Championships and was selected in the Australian Under 23 Squad in 2008. Outstanding performances with the ACT team in the Open Women's Gilley's Shield 2009-10, resulted in Clare's selection in the Aussie Spirit team to compete in the New Zealand series. Clare also secured a 2010 Australian Institute of Sport scholarship, which led to her official selection in the 2010 Aussie Spirit World Championship team.

Clare had a strong Gilley’s Shield with the bat and consistently collected hits against the best pitching in the competition. She has good power and the ability to get hits at important times in games.
